Classified as a Schedule III (non-narcotic) controlled substance under the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990, it is also known as Oxandrolone.
However, abuse of the drug can cause Anavar side effects such as dark urine or inhibition of the metabolism of oral hypoglycemic agents, liver failure, liver cysts, menstrual irregularities, depression, libido changes, vomiting, nausea, acne, and liver tumors in rare cases. Indiscriminate use of Anavar may lead to testicular atrophy, gynecomastia, acne, oily skin, kidney damage, reduced sperm count, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, abnormal functioning of the liver, and prostate enlargement or deepened voice, menstrual cycle changes, depression, hallucination, dizziness, stunted growth, male pattern baldness, reduced sex drive, testicle shrinking, clitoris enlargement, growth of facial hair, and increased aggression; it may even lead to hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism or sudden reductions in terms of serum concentrations of LH (luteinizing hormone), FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), and testosterone levels or premature skeletal maturation and liver damage or increased levels of LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and decreased levels of HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol).
If symptoms such as yellow eyes/skin, sudden/persistent stomach/abdominal pain, unusual tiredness, or dark urine are experienced, use of Anavar should be stopped on an immediate basis and the advice of a medical practitioner should be sought without delays. In addition to that, multiple doses of this steroid should never be taken even if missed accidentally or in hopes of quick results as that can easily turn into Anavar abuse and side effects.
